Before starting directly with teaching SEO and its factors, I would like to tell you some insights into How does the Internet Work for Websites? And, How does the Search Engines Work? Because, if you don’t know about the machines you are going to have your hands on, how can you make them work for you?

Below, I have shared first two concepts that you need to understand before pursuing to take this SEO training course. However, the concepts are not too lengthy, but it’s better for you to read them first.

How does the Internet Work for Websites?

A standout amongst the most regularly utilized administrations on the Internet is the World Wide Web (WWW). The application convention that makes the web work is Hypertext Transfer Protocol or HTTP. Try not to mistake this for the Hypertext Markup Language (HTML). HTML is the dialect used to compose pages. HTTP is the convention that web programs and web server utilization to correspond with one another over the Internet.

When you type a URL into a web browser, this is what happens:

  • If the URL contains a domain name, the browser first connects to a domain name server and retrieves the corresponding IP address for the web server.
  • The web browser connects to the web server and sends an HTTP request (via the protocol stack) for the desired web page.
  • The web server receives the request and checks for the desired page. If the page exists, the web server sends it.
  • If the server cannot find the requested page, it will send an HTTP 404 error message. (404 means ‘Page Not Found’ as anyone who has surfed the web probably knows.
  • The web browser receives the page back and the connection is closed.
  • The browser then parses through the page and looks for other page elements it needs to complete the web page. These usually include images, applets, etc.
  • For each element needed, the browser makes additional connections and HTTP requests to the server for each element.
  • When the browser has finished loading all images, applets, etc. the page will be completely loaded in the browser window.

All you need to know is just that, remember the above points because they are very useful ones in doing SEO for any website and they are the basis for that. Secondly, let’s jump up on, How does the Search Engines Work?

How does the Search Engines Work for Websites?

Basically, search engines work on two major factors i.e Crawling the web pages and Indexing them into their servers. The Crawlers/Spiders or Robots, crawl the web pages that are accessible in the information system of interlinked hypertext documents that are accessed via the Internet and built on top of the Domain Name System, which is simply known as WEB or WWW.

After crawling those pages, the crawlers index them into their servers, or we can say they actually make a duplicate copy of these online web pages into their database/Hard Drives to be recalled later, when needed for a search query and to accomplish this task the search engines has to construct data centers all over the world.

After crawling and indexing the web pages or websites, the things come on, How Search Engines show up their results for the searched queries. In order to do so, search engines pick up the links on the basis of their relevance from a long list of web pages on that particular search query and the results depend on the type of query and the number of documents matching that query in the search index.

Now, the question arises, What they mean with relevancy and how they judge it??

Here is the answer: Currently, search engines typically interpret the importance of a web page as per its popularity – The more popular a web page of the site is, the most valuable information contained therein must be. And to accomplish this popularity task, they use their own Mathematical Equations/Algorithms to sort the wheat from the chaff and rank them accordingly to their tastiness.

But, apart from popularity, there are many factors that search engines use for the relevant web page and that includes.

  • The quality of Information.
  • Signs for the Crawlers to find your website or Web pages.
  • Quality Backlinks.
  • Using the keywords that can make your website to be found for the related search query.
  • Website user-friendliness
  • Social love on websites and many factors like that…

It also includes Pay-Per-Click services, because this service can also help your website to get found on search engines and make it appear on the targeted search query.

Wahoo!! Now you guys are enough knowledgeable of the two most important topics in order to learn SEO i.e. How the Internet works for the websites and how search engines work for websites and I think this is the right time to give you a complete online training of SEO.

Here we go…..!!!

What is SEO (Search Engine Optimization)?

Search Engine Optimization is a technique to increase the rank/position of websites or web pages in the SERPs (Search Engines Result Pages) or we can say a technique to increase the rankings of websites/webpages in unpaid result, to which we further known as “Organic Search Results“ of search engines like GOOGLEYAHOOBING and other search engines.

Let’s elaborate the above image first:

For any search query (like; the full form of NASA) most of the search engines will show top 10 best results that are the best according to their searching algorithms and some related searched on those keywords as well like visible above in this online SEO training course.

Another thing to note is that there is a section just below the searching bar, which shows the total number of results found for that particular keyword/phrase and these results are based on the number of pages indexed in the database of Google servers. Here, you can see about 1,84,00,000 search results found in the KW(Keyword) full form of NASA…Seriously a lot of numbers isn’t it??

Anyways, now if you are clear with the definition of Search Engine Optimization and How Google and other search engines show their results for search queries, then it’s time to cover the most interesting and important factors on which you actually have to work practically for the results on any website after all that theory i.e. On-Page SEO Factors and Off-Page SEO Factors.

What is On-Page SEO and its Factors?

On-Page SEO or better to say, the prime SEO factors from where you must start the optimization of any website. Basically, these are the factors that can be handled by you or by the coding of the pages, which includes;

  • HTML Coding optimization
  • CSS coding optimization
  • Javascript optimization
  • Image optimization
  • Internal Textual Linking
  • Content Optimization
  • H1, H2, H3 and H4 tags Optimization
  • Meta Tags
  • Keyword Density Optimization
  • Page Title Optimization
  • Keyword Placement Optimization

And much more, if you want to get complete stuff for the On-page optimization you can read my post on Top 20 On-Page Tips and Tricks.

Getting back to the topic, On-Page SEO is a part of Search Engine Optimization which you can handle manually and directly within the website. Furthermore, in SEO On-Optimization it is really important to check if your website is mobile friendly or not because in On-Page SEO this factor is going to be like a boost-up bullet for your website if it is a mobile friendly one. See Below image showing the result of the mobile-friendly status of SEO SERVICE IN INDIA and it’s actually an Awesome One…

How On-Page SEO Affect the Rankings in SERPs?

In today’s trend of SEO and website rankings, the major part depends on in the quality of content the authority of website or web pages because of you have quality content on your web pages then it can act like a rocket launcher in the rankings for websites moreover, they can be a web pages that can be linked to but in order to know how to increase the authority of web pages you can read my post on How to Increase Page Authority (PA) of a Webpage.

Secondly, if you have properly used your rich snippets (includes; Meta Description, Title of the page, Reviews etc.) and Structured Data will heal a lot to the Crawlers/ Spiders in order to better understand your website and your offerings through it, which will further affect your rankings in a positive way.

So, be smart while playing with the On-Page SEO and don’t leave even a single part that in On-Page optimization.

Important Tip: While playing with the meta description for the rich-snippets, try to avoid the use of keywords, because the meta description does not help you in the rankings, they actually help to get more click on the websites. Hamm…Wondering How??

Let’s discuss with a short example: Suppose you are selling watches in your online store in India, and for that if you write: “20% sale on watches of all brands and free delivery at your doorstep in India” will definitely get you more click instead of using “affordable watches in India through so and so company that offers the best watches in India“. And it does not matter even if you are ranking below #5 positions you will get definitely get clicks on it.

I hope you are clear with this SEO On-page Optimization section of this free online SEO training course for 2017 If the answers are YES!! This is time to move on to What is Off-Page and its factors? But before that, if you still have any query in this free SEO course till now, you can just leave a comment in the box below and I will try to get them answered as soon as I can.

What is OFF-Page SEO and its Factors?

Understanding Off-Page SEO is not a rocket science because its definition is very small and easy to understand, but the actual think come when you use it for a website because there are many things to understand in OFF-Page SEO Techniques. But, let’s start with the definition of Off-Page SEO first….

Off-page SEO is the second most effective technique to increase the rankings of a website in the SERP’s. Basically, in Off-page SEO, we create Quality, Relevant and High Authority Links from other websites towards our websites in order to support the websites ranking. In other words, it’s like pushing up something from back support. Which includes various factors like;

  • Article Submissions
  • Business Listings
  • Social bookmarking
  • Classifieds Submissions
  • Image Promotions
  • Guest Posts Submissions

And many techniques like that, which can help your website to get a reputed place in the search results. If you want to read some more exciting and interesting link building techniques, then read my post on Out of the Box Link Building Techniques for 2015. Here, I have mentioned some most useful and worth to use link building techniques that can boost up the rankings of your websites easily.

Anyways, there are two types of backlinks i.e Do-Follow Backlinks and No-Follow Backlinks. The basic difference between do follow and no follow backlinks is that Do-Follow Backlinks allow passing the link juice of the website from where you are getting a backlink and No-Follow Backlinks do not allow to pass the link juice of websites.

Now, you must be thinking how Do-Follow and No-Follow Backlinks affect the rankings. The logic behind that is, if your backlink is a do follow from a high authority web page say DA(Domain Authority) of 50+, PA(Page Authority) of 40+ and Moz Rank of 4+ then will boost up your rankings in the SERP’s as compared to a no-follow link from a website having DA (Domain Authority) of 80+, PA (Page Authority) of 60+ and Moz Rank of 6+.

Important Tip: It does not matter much if you are making a Do-Follow Backlink or No-Follow ones if the link is from an authority website it will work like a rocket for the rankings of your websites. The thing which matters the most is where you are getting those links towards your website.
