Podomatic is a podcast hosting platform, not a directory. It stores your audio files, builds your RSS feed and hands that feed to listening apps such as Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube, Amazon Music, Deezer, Player FM and iHeartRadio. It also offers:

So when someone searches for "Podomatic podcast submission", they usually mean one of two jobs:

Podomatic's own example uses a 50MB, 30-minute talk episode. On that basis, the free plan stores about 10 episodes and serves about 300 listens a month.
What happens past those limits matters. Podomatic explains that a Basic show that goes over its monthly bandwidth is removed from Podomatic's rankings, to delay the point where the show is cut off entirely. A show that has just started to grow can therefore disappear from Podomatic's charts and then stop playing, in every app, in the same month.
The second catch is distribution. Podomatic's marketing describes 1-Click directory submission as free. Its current plan comparison, however, lists 1-Click directories on the paid tiers (Pro Plus, Pro Platinum and Broadcaster) and not on Basic. We check what your account actually shows before planning around it.
Our view on plan sizing: don't pay for more plan than you need, and don't rely on a plan you'll outgrow the week your show gets shared.
Encoding is the cheapest lever. A 30-minute talk episode exported as mono MP3 at 64 kbps is roughly 14MB rather than 50MB. That is about three and a half times more listens from the same bandwidth. For many spoken-word shows, correct encoding keeps Pro Plus comfortable long after a badly exported show would need Pro Platinum.

1-Click Distribution: What It Covers and What It Doesn't
Podomatic lists integrated submission to Apple, YouTube, Spotify, Amazon, Deezer, Facebook, Player FM, iHeartRadio and more. The button submits your feed. It does not guarantee a listing. Three things still decide whether your show goes live.
Apple still reviews your show
Podomatic's own guidance says Apple takes your images, show description and episode details from your feed, and requires accurate metadata. Its older help article also warns that a rejected feed URL cannot be resubmitted. The submission you want is a clean first attempt, not a quick one.
Your feed needs a public email address
Podomatic says a public email must be added under Settings, Directories, Feed Settings before submitting to Apple Podcasts or Spotify. Directories use that address to verify ownership. Leave it empty and the submission stalls. Use an unmonitored inbox and you'll miss the verification code.
Some important apps are outside the button
Depending on your audience, you may need:
- Manual claims on Castbox, Pocket Casts, Podcast Addict and Podchaser.
- An index listing at Podcast Index.
- An Apple listing first, for apps such as Overcast and Castro that build their catalogues from Apple.
- Regional platforms such as JioSaavn and Gaana for Indian audiences, and iVoox for Spanish-language shows.

A useful note for shows outside the USA: Podomatic appears among iHeartRadio's partner hosts. That matters because iHeartRadio's own direct submission is open only to podcasters in a small group of countries. For shows in the UK, Singapore or India, the partner-host route can be the practical way onto iHeartRadio.
Feed Settings
The Feed Settings That Decide Whether Submission Works
Every Podomatic show passes through the same checklist before we press submit:
- Public email for directories. Filled in, monitored, and matching the account that will claim each listing.
- Cover art. Square, at least 3000 x 3000 px as Podomatic recommends, readable at thumbnail size, and free of other brands' logos.
- Audio format. MP3 throughout. Podomatic warns that a single M4A episode may get a podcast disabled on Apple, so we check the whole back catalogue, not just the newest episode.
- Show title and author. Unique, searchable and consistent across every app, with no keyword stuffing that could trigger a review flag.
- Category and explicit flag. Set accurately. The wrong explicit setting is one of the easiest ways to get pulled from a directory.
- Descriptions. A show description written for search, and episode descriptions with a clear hook in the first line, since most apps cut off the rest.
- Episode titles. Written for people searching inside podcast apps, without numbers-only titles that tell listeners nothing.
- Leftover prefixes and redirects. If you ever ran Podcorn campaigns, we check your episode links for its analytics prefix. Podcorn's successor, Audacy Creator Lab, is being wound down by Audacy on November 1, 2026, and a dead tracking prefix can break playback.

Moving in
Podomatic's support team imports existing shows on request, bringing your media into a new Podomatic account and feed. The import is only half the job. Your old host must permanently redirect (301) the old feed to the new Podomatic address. Each directory must then pick up the new feed, and episode IDs (GUIDs) must stay the same so followers don't get duplicate downloads. We manage and verify every step.
Moving out
Sometimes the honest recommendation is that Podomatic is no longer the right host. That usually applies when:
