Platform Reality
What Zeno Media Actually Is — and What It Isn't
Half the confusion around this platform comes from listicles that file it under "free podcast submission sites." That is not how it works, and getting this wrong wastes weeks.
Zeno Media is a New York-based audio streaming company founded in 2011, whose flagship product is Zeno.FM. Its original mission was connecting niche and diaspora communities back to their hometown radio stations and native-language programming — listeners and broadcasters concentrated in West Africa, the Caribbean, Central Asia and Latin America, many of them now settled in the United States, the UK and Canada. It carries roughly 25,000 streams.
The critical distinction: Zeno.FM is a host and a listening platform, not an open crawler. Unlike Listen Notes or Podcasts.com, it does not discover and index public RSS feeds from around the web. There is no "submit your external feed" form that gets you into the Zeno apps. The door into that audience is a Zeno Tools account with your show hosted or imported inside it.
That single fact changes the whole job. This is not form-filling. It is an architecture decision — full migration, or a controlled secondary presence — followed by careful technical execution.
What's Free and What Isn't (the honest version)
We put this near the top because clients keep being quoted from outdated pages.
Listening to and discovering stations and podcasts on Zeno.FM is free and needs no account. Podcast hosting is presented by Zeno as free, unlimited, with monetisation available and analytics going back up to a year.
However, free streaming plans were discontinued in January 2025. Live radio broadcasting now requires a paid plan — Starter, Prime or Premier — with a 7-day trial available on Starter, and pricing localised by country. Add-ons including a branded mobile app, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, and the Podcast Bot automation are paid extras. Monetisation is not included during a trial.
So: if you are a podcast-only creator, your listing costs nothing and you are paying us for the work around it. If you are a radio broadcaster, there is a platform subscription on top. We tell you which of those you are in the first conversation, before any invoice.
